Solving the Dinner Dilemma…
Illustration System
The Yummly visual language is comprised of two elements; the first is called “the grease pencil.” The second layer of the visual language is called “paper cut-out.” A crude construction mimicking the cutting of construction paper is used to fill the artwork and give further definition and depth the the visual language.
From these two techniques emerges a playful and homemade style that expresses the conviviality and earnestness of the brand.
Constructed to stand alone or combine together, this versatile illustration style allow for individual iconographic elements or larger story-telling moments.

As part of the larger rebranding and to uplevel Yummly recipes, a new art direction for photography was created. The result are delicious, lush, and vibrant new images that mirror the new Yummly Brand and embrace the Yummly design principles.

The Yummly Smart Thermometer is designed to seamlessly integrate into the kitchen without feeling like a typical electronic gadget, blending harmoniously with other appliances. It is meant to be a proud, prominent fixture on the countertop, enhancing its visibility and encouraging frequent use, rather than being relegated to a drawer. With its portability, it’s perfect for use in various settings—from the oven to the grill, or even on holiday trips—while offering protection and ease of use. The Yummly Smart Thermometer elevates the cooking experience by combining functionality, durability, and aesthetic appeal.
